Pearl Valley is GREEN

Pearl Valley is GREEN

Pearl Valley Golf Estates is committed to a greener and safer environment

alt

The safest way to dispose of household cooking oil is to pour it into a disposable bag and into general waste.

The kitchen at Pearl Valley Clubhouse makes use of CUCOC to collect its disposable oil for the sole purpose of biodiesel.

sassiPearl Valley is willing to be more responsible and sustainable in their seafood practices, and have joined SASSI’s Restaurant Programme.

As a SASSI Restaurant Supporter we have made the following commitments:
1. Phase out unsustainable seafood (NO local red-listed items)

2. Promote sustainable choices
3. Continuously evaluate seafood product ranges
4. Provide customers with adequate information e.g. Species, origin, production method, to make an ocean-friendly choice
5. Endeavour to offer seafood that is traceable to its origin.

altOur aim is to minimise the impact of waste going into landfill as ‘dumping’ sites have generally reached their capacity. Pearl Valley acknowledges its responsibility to reduce recyclable waste. Glass, paper, plastic, tin and cardboard are separated at source by introducing the separation bin system and a dedicated on-site person. We also have a recycling facility for our residents to dispose of their household recyclable waste.

We monitor our progress on a monthly basis and since inception of the initiative we’ve increased our recyclable waste from 350 kg to over 4 tons. We hope to increase these numbers through awareness and continued participation from all who live and work on our beautiful Estate.
